New feature just added is Post Rank. Yes, the more you post the more rank you are! I think we need a contest to decide what would be appropriate for each Category and how many posts to achieve.
As of now I have chosen a Lizard Theme.
- Newt ≥ 0
- Salamander ≥ 10
- Gekko ≥ 50
- Velociraptor ≥ 200
- Lizard King ≥ 1000
Velociraptor sound kind of mean and unhelpful. Maybe Gila Monster or something a little less deadly.
Or maybe Komodo Dragon? Oh, wait, they're reputed to be man-eaters. The girls would be safe, anyway.
Perhaps i-guana? Or is that too close to Apples i-guano?
I think that some of the silent should make their wishes known. Besides the Velociraptor seems to embody the fast response and decisive handling of a situation that are most frequent flyers have. Perhaps it appears a little too eager to go for the guts of a issue.
Hmmm... maybe Basilisk would be a good one.
But I'm just a penguin. Besides a lizard would freeze to death here in the snow drifts of Minnesota.
And I am by no means a mean penguin, just ask BD he'll tell ya...
Its hard to rank penguins. Hmm...
Private
Kowalski
Rico
Skipper
That leaves one short;
King Julian?
Gilligan
Ginger
Mr. Howell
Professor
Skipper?
No Mary Ann? Sorta returns me to the early 70's when we got our first color T/V set. Gilligans Isle, I Dream of Jeanie, Land of the Giants, The Time Tunnel, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea and many others were there to watch in Glorious Color! No doubt the Radiation from the hours in front of the "Boob Tube" has left a significant alteration in my psyche if not my intellect.
But however we are drifting away from the Subject of Rank.
Ideas people!
New proposal:
- Newt ≥ 0
- Salamander ≥ 10
- Gecko ≥ 50
- Iguana ≥ 200
- Monitor ≥ 500
- Lizard King ≥ 1000
But I'm just a penguin. Besides a lizard would freeze to death here in the snow drifts of Minnesota.
And I am by no means a mean penguin, just ask BD he'll tell ya...

If trying to freeze the world isn't mean, I don't know what is.
Looks like a good ranking system to me mattb4.
Ok, so I sorta have a small mean streak...
Like that ranking system better mattb4
salamander????? omg, someone change that!!!!

You only need 10 more posts to change it yourself.
English being not my native language I have to look up a lot of these words. Is this a way to encourage a lot of people around the world to join?
I looked for monitor in Wikipedia (the English part of it) and on my monitor there was a whole page with a lot of meanings of Monitor. Somewhere at the very end there was:
Monitor lizard, any lizard of the family Varanidae
Is this what you mean? Then at least make it 'Monitor lizard' to avoid ambiguity.
(Hope I will never ever reach that level, can I withdraw posts to reach a lower level?
)
Nice Avatar Bozo!
@hcvv: For you non Autochtones not from the island group off the Mainland of Europe. Some of the contortions of Language are due to borrowing (some would say outright theft) from other Native peoples. Thus over time Ambiguities arose from taking words and assigning different meanings to them. C'est la vie.
.......from taking words and assigning different meanings to them. C'est la vie.
We discussed that earlier here (something about Gesundheit!).
What does "C'est la vie" mean to you on the islands? I know what it means over here (it has connections with "eau de vie"
).
C est lavvy, simple means "whatever dude", in West Coast speak. Whereas in the Ozarks in means if there is a hole in the roof; If its raining you can't fix it but if it tain't raining it ain't leaking so why get all het up over it.
Thanks a lot for this explanation.
Anybody else having an translation what it means in their local speach?
* Note to Grammar Nazis: though the correct use of tain't would not have the redundant "it" in front. (since tain't is held as a contraction of it ain't) Popular usage of "totally ain't" as tain't allows the addition of the "it". Thus it is proper for the above used colloquialism.
